As the world leader in the geographic information system (GIS) software industry for more than 40 years, ESRI has a long tradition in supporting the establishment of SDI’s providing relevant technologies as well as complementary consulting services. Those include non-technical aspects like capacity building and organisational set-up. On the product side, ESRI’s ArcGIS for INSPIRE extends ArcGIS Server and addresses the requirements of data and service providers and consumers: transforming existing data sources into INSPIRE compliant data sets, publishing them via view and download services meeting the Quality-of-Service requirements, and enabling developers to implement new services and applications on top of the INSPIRE infrastructure. www.esri.com

As the JISC national datacentre at the University of Edinburgh EDINA is leading engagement with INSPIRE and the UK Location Programme on behalf of UK universities and colleges. It is also working in partnership with Scottish Government and involved in EU programmes.

Supporting the UK research and education sector to ensure ease and continuity of access to  resources, EDINA has established international reputation for its online services, including facilities for the discovery, use and publishing of geospatial content. It acts as a centre for expertise in building spatial data infrastructure that enhance the more generic open data landscape and also meets the demands for secure (authorised) information infrastructure. Geospatial data collections available to the UK research and education sector include core framework geospatial data such as Ordnance Survey Great Britain, British Geological Survey, marine and historical data; Digimap for Schools has recently been launched winning a Geographical Association  Gold Award.

Ordnance Survey is Great Britain's national mapping agency, providing the most accurate and up-to-date geographic data, relied on by government, business and individuals.
Our flagship digital products make up the OS MasterMap® family, one of the most advanced and comprehensive analytical tools of its generation. With topography, transport, address and imagery layers, it provides consistent information down to address, street and building level. With almost half a billion features nationwide, OS MasterMap offers unparalleled accuracy and consistency.
Since April 2010, we have also provided free and unrestricted access to a large range of our mapping data through OS OpenData™. By allowing wider access to Ordnance Survey data we hope to support digital innovation and encourage users to create new applications and solutions, drive new markets and unlock new potential for jobs in existing and new technologies.
Ordnance Survey data is relied on by us all. If you call for an ambulance or for police assistance, more often than not it's our data that's used to find you. When there's a gas leak or a burst water main, utility companies are planning their response with mapping from us. Want to locate your nearest restaurant, garage or supermarket? We're there again, supporting the search engines and pointing you in the right direction.
