| History/Scope | George Jackson lived in Leicester and before his retiral in 1975, worked as manager of the Hotel Street branch of Barclay's Bank LTD. His trips, which he took with his wife included a journey overland from the UK to Australia in 1975-1976 and a journey from Tierra del Fuego to Alaska in 1978-1979. The collection includes 2 series of 35mm slides devoted to these trips; a series of general 35mm slides and a series of slides which were used for shows. |
| Notes: | System of arrangement: the collection is divided in to series reflecting the original arrangement by the creator. Finding aids: the slides have been briefly listed by the creator in notebooks. The notebooks are stored in box GJ7. Individual slides may be identified by the film and slide number which is written on each slide. The creator has also included information on the quality of each image in the slide listing. An index to the slides is also available. |
