Raspberry Shake

A Raspberry Shake is a small seismometer connected to a Raspberry Pi computer. Raspberry Shakes form a worldwide network. The School of GeoSciences operates Raspberry Shake  number R437A; if it is currently online the data should be shown below. Note that the instrument is used for outreach purposes which may result in its being offline or operating from a different location. (Its usual location is a secret basement room where it rests directly on the ground.) The Raspberry Shake responds to seismic waves with frequencies between 1Hz and about 45Hz. Lower frequency waves are recorded by the School of GeoSciences gravity meters; you can view the gravity meter output or learn more about these instruments.
