Welcome to UKCCSRC

The UKCCSRC is funded by the RCUK Energy for a Low Carbon Future programme, with additional funding from the Department of Energy and Climate Change. The aim of the UKCCSRC is to provide a national focal point for CCS research and development in order to bring together the user community and academics to analyse problems, devise and carry out world-leading research and share delivery, thus maximising impact. A key priority is to help stimulate the UK economy by driving an integrated research programme focused on increasing the contribution of CCS to a low-carbon energy system for the UK.

Members of the UKCCSRC are individuals working in the UK academic community who are currently participating in (or have recently completed) CCS projects. If you would like to express interest in becoming a member or industry affiliate, please visit the membership page or contact the UKCCSRC secretariat at uk_ccsrc@ed.ac.uk or a co-ordination group member/research area champion on the people page.

The UKCCSRC will innovate, lead and coordinate a programme of underpinning research on all aspects of CCS in support of basic science and UK government efforts on energy and climate change. In line with the EPSRC Delivery Plan 2011-2015, the UKCCSRC mission will be delivered through three key areas:
