2nd year geology student wins Laidlaw-Hall Trust Award

Geology student Akinori Suganuma is awarded a Laidlaw-Hall Trust Grant.

Akinori Suganuma, year 2 Geology (BSc) has been awarded a grant from the Laidlaw-Hall Trust to travel to Australia to sample some enigmatic volcanic rocks in eastern Australia.

He has also been invited to join a research dredging programme to the Tasmantid seamounts. 

Akinori said:

"The support from the Laidlaw-Hall Trust gives me the precious opportunity to explore and challenge the real world questions in geology. I hope that this will be not just personal but also inspiring to students in Geosciences".

The Laidlaw-Hall Trust helps fund extra curricular geological expeditions in the Earth Sciences.
