GeoSciences take part in Doors Open Day on Saturday 29th September

The School of GeoSciences took part in a successful Doors Open Day event on Saturday 29th September, welcoming over 355 visitors to the Grant Institute. 

Students and staff delivered hands-on activities covering major themes in earth sciences, ranging from digging up fossils and making an acidity detector to simulating volcanic plumes in a giant tank, and lots more!  Many new and interesting geosciences highlights were on show including, high pressure ice formation; and drone simulations provided by Team Shrub. 

Dr Kate Saunders also delivered a talk 'Supervolcanoes' at The Royal Society of Edinburgh as part of a wider programme of events throughout Edinburgh.
