Senior Researcher Dr Richard Hinton is awarded the Geological Society's Distinguished Service Award.
The Geological Society's award is made annually to an individual who has made a significant contribution to geoscience and the geoscience community by virtue of their professional, administrative, organisational or promotional activities.’
The award ceremony takes place on Wednesday 7th June on the Society’s President's Day at the Society's Apartments on Piccadilly.
I am very pleased to accept this award. My contribution is largely as part of the Edinburgh Ion Microprobe Facility team effort provided over the last 30 years by myself and John Craven and also, over the last 8 years, by Cees-Jan de Hoog.
