The Hawse
Locality 2: The Hawse is the gap in the rocks where the footpath leads from Pollock Halls to Hunter's bog and Holyrood Palace. Notice in this view that the Salisbury Crags sill (in the foreground) thins and splits into two layers on the eastern side of the footpath. The crag in the background is made from volcanic agglomerate. |
