Slickensides
Locality 11: Slickensides are parallel striations on rock surfaces produced by relative motion across opposite sides of fault planes. They may appear similar to the striations produced by glaciers but can be seen to pass into the body of the rock. At this location the northern end of the Salisbury Crags sill is cut off by St. Anthony's Fault. |
