Distorted strata
Locality 8: The Salisbury Crags sill occasionally cross-cuts the sedimentary layers and in some places the thinly layered sedimentary rocks have been distorted during intrusion. Such features clearly indicate that the rock which forms Salisbury Crags is a sill and not a lava flow. |
