Dolerite dyke adjacent to Cat's Nick
Locality 10: The Cat's Nick is the site of a fault with a small displacement. A few metres to the east
a dyke can be seen cross cutting the Salisbury Crags sill. The dyke is difficult to spot,
but has a slightly different colour and jointing pattern. The Salisbury Crags sill is known
to be younger than the lavas on Whinny hill, and the dyke is younger still, so cannot be related
to any of the observed lava flows.
