How the scheme works
A committee within Edinburgh Seismic Research welcomes research project proposals, together with candidate CVs. If the project is viable, an agreement about the research area, confidentiality and intellectual property is drawn up between parties. Thereafter, industrial staff work on focused research from within the University for a period of time. This can either be part of their usual research function within the company but performed remotely from Edinburgh, or could be for a sabbatical period funded by the company. Collaborative projects with Edinburgh Seismic Research staff based in Edinburgh are particularly encouraged. Participants supply their own computer, but have access to 'in-house' resources and instruments (such as those at the Grant Institute), the University Procurement Office and I.T. support facilities, and to facilities elswhere in the University, such as Edinburgh Parallel Computing Centre. Overhead charges are at University standard rates.
The opportunity is now offered to scientists in your company or institution: |
