Projects

Existing projects are focused on the geological storage and monitoring of CO2. New projects are being developed on CO2 Regulation, CCS deployment, and CO2 capture, and Learning rates (to predict future costs) of CCS power plants.

  • Seal evaluation and mineral reactions to measure mudrock performance over geological timescales

  • Calculating the CO2 sequestered by mineral trapping

  • Natural tracers of CO2 ascent and discriminating deep sources

  • Learning rates of CO2 capture on power plant

  • Assessing CO2 retention and leakage up fault seal

  • Mechanisms of CO2 ascent through overburden

  • Basin modelling of mudrock seal performance, CO2 dense phase seepage rates and pathways

  • Basin modelling of gas phase CO2 pathways in overburden

  • Barriers and enablers for CCS deployment in India

  • First large scale integrated appraisal of specific sites for UK saline aquifer storage of CO2 from coal plant

  • Consultancy for site-specific evaluation of CO2 storage around the UK
