Dr Céline Bruderer

I am part of the EC project SCALFRAC, entitled "Scale dependence of groundwater flow and contaminant transport in fractured rock", which groups together several European universities.

My research is concerned with flow and contaminant transport in heterogeneous media. I have developed a code simulating flow and tracer transport in a 2D network of pipes. The dispersion of a solute in a heterogeneous medium is a very complex process and the aim of my modelling is to allow identification and isolation of the different parameters of the process in order to study and quantify their individual effects. I have translated this CPU consuming code into an openMP code (thanks to the help of EPCC courses and support), running on the parallel computer Lomond at EPCC.
