Ice-Breaker Reception and the Edinburgh International Festival

The ice-breaker reception on 6th September coincides with the closing event of the Edinburgh International Festival.

This festival closing event is a spectacular firework display over Edinburgh castle which is accompanied by the Scottish Chamber Orchestra playing live in Princes St Gardens.  This concert starts at 2100, immediately after our ice-breaker reception and delegates are encouraged to go and see the concert.  Generally a good view can be had from Princes St without paying, but this is a very popular event.

Obviously the Edinburgh International Festival is completely independent of our conference, so if anyone would like to buy a ticket for the concert which gives you entrance into the gardens, and obviously a much better view of everything, then please click here and follow the links.

Tickets are £25 which provides you with organised seating in the open air Ross Theatre in front of the orchestra, or £10 which permits entry to the gardens where you can find a place to sit on the grassy embankments (bring a rug with you!!).  The music this year by Handel.

The Edinburgh International Festival runs from 14 August to 6 September, information on all other festival events are also available from the EIF website.
