The Tropospheric Chemistry and Earth Observation Modelling Group
We are a group of staff and students in the School of GeoSciences at the University of Edinburgh who study the Earth's climate using data, models and theory. We are funded by the UK Natural Environmental Research Council, the Leverhulme Trust, the Nuffield Foundation, the UK Space Agency, the European Space Agency, the British Council, the Royal Society, and Microsoft Research.
Our current research addresses the overarching science questions:
- What drives observed changes in tropospheric chemistry and how do these affect surface air quality?
- What is the geographical location, magnitude and variability of terrestrial fluxes of CO2, CH4, and N2O?
- How can we describe human behaviour in climate models?
