The Edinburgh Earth Observatory provides several online resources for the general public. These include:

• The World-Wide Earthquake Locator - an automated resource which provides maps of recent earthquakes and related information.
• The Gazetteer for Scotland - an immense encylopaedic database on the geography, history, people and places of Scotland.
