Human Geography

We welcome applicants who have an undergraduate degree in a social science subject either to apply for one of our specialised PhD projects, or submit a project of their own. PhD study in Human Geography relates to one of our themes: relations and identities; knowledges, practices and policies; development and power.

Students will enjoy not only the obvious benefits of being part of an internationally recognised Human Geography Research Group, but also meaningful associations to relevant social scientists in other parts of the University such as the Graduate School of Social & Political Studies.

The Human Geography Research Group invites applications from suitably qualified students for ESRC quota and competition studentships. Please click HERE for further details.

The deadline for applications is 26 February 2010.

Physical Science PhD projects are listed by discipline (select a discipline from the adjacent panel to see a list of projects below) with details of funding/eligibility for funding and deadline for applications attached to each project. You will also find an "Apply Online" button beside each project which will take you directly to the online application process. Information about grants and studentships can be found in the PhD Applications section of this website. If you have your own funding and wish to pursue a project of your own choice, then please discuss your interests with a staff member working in the relevant discipline area.

The closing date for applications is 15 February 2010.
