In this Research Masters degree you will develop a research project in your own topic of interest, drawing on expertise in the School of GeoSciences that ranges from geological records of the distant past to present-day global change caused by people. Recent projects include studies of tree rings, global dimming, climate records in ocean sediments, bio-fuels, and the energetics of Arctic tundra.
Taught courses are delivered by colleagues from different disciplines, including ecologists, oceanographers, meteorologists, geologists, agriculturalists and geographers. Many of these staff are linked to industry and policy makers. Many are leading researchers who relate their teaching to current cutting-edge research within the School.
