HOW TO: Set up a Grid
What is a grid?
A grid is a regular array of
points used to help make elements of a drawing snap to exact increments
of the grid interval. Snap is toggled on or off as required with the
View menu. The grid can be made invisible or visible as an array of dots
or lines separately from the Snap setting. Smaller grids are best displayed as
dots.
Setting the Grid
Select the Tools|Options
menu. Expand the Document Options and select the Grids and Guidelines
item. Corel Draw 9 has a View|Grid and Ruler Setup item and the
Grid and Guidelines are separate Options. Use
either the Spacing method or the Frequency method. The
illustration to the right shows the spacing being set to 1mm and the grid
visibility set to dot form.
Use the View|Grid and Ruler Setup menu as required to
toggle the grid display and the View|Snap to Grid menu to toggle Snap
mode.
The default grid distance may have been set by a
previous user.
