My PhD involves writing a numerical model of carbonate platform development on a semi-basin scale. The model already includes many key processes that control both reef growth and carbonate precipitation. The carbonate model is an additional module to an existing Schlumberger (my Case sponsers) code called GPM which models siliciclastic erosion, transport and deposition.
