MSc Quaternary Science at RHUL and UCL - Distinction

Dissertation:"Using Uk'37 and TEX86 to reconstruct the Plio- Pleistocene oceanography of the Benguela region"

2009

Visiting Student Researcher at CalTech and Georgia Tech

Project: I was involved in a project looking at changes in West Pacific hydrology on glacial/interglacial timescales using speleothems from Borneo. For this I undertook δ18O, δ13C measurements and performed U/Th dating on a single stalagmite, which fed into a larger ongoing project involving a number of speleothems from the area. The work is in collaboration with Dr. Nele Meckler (ETH Zurich), Prof. Jess Adkins (CalTech) and Dr. Kim Cobb (Georgia Tech). Click here to view the publication.


2008

Field Studies Tutor

After graduating from my BSc at Durham I worked in the South of France for Discover Ltd. teaching classroom and field based geography to students aged 12-18


2005-2008

BSc (Hons) Geology at Durham University - 1st Class

Dissertation: Geological Mapping of the Beinn an Dubhaich Intrusion, Isle of Skye. Involved mapping and thin section analysis of a granitic intrusion and associated metamorphic aureole.
