Geochemistry

Welcome to my personal page. I am currently a second year PhD student working on The Geochemistry of Eclogites in Western Norway, supervised by Prof. Godfrey Fitton and Prof. Simon Harley. My project has two proposed objectives:

1. To use immobile trace elements to determine the tectonic environment in which the basaltic protolith was emplaced.

2. To compare the inventory of the more mobile elements with those expected in the protolith in order to assess element mobility during eclogite-facies metamorphism.

The first objective is leading to an increased understanding of the evolution of the Caledonides in Norway, while objective 2 will add considerably to our understanding of subduction-zone processes.
