Sea Experience
-
Canyons'02 Cruise, 2nd to 22th Nov. 2002, RV Pelagia (Valencia - Vigo).
Organized by the Netherlands Institute for Sea Research (NIOZ) as part of the European project Strataform, this cruise was carried out in the Gulf of Lion (France) and Setubal and Nazare Canyons (Portugal). Was acquired shallow cores, water column sampling, high resolution seismic profiles (Chirp sonar and X-Star Device) and underwater TV recordings.
FAPI Cruise, 24th to 30th July 2002, RV Aguas Bravas (Faial - Faial).
It was acquired data with Chirp Sonar CAP-6000W and Uniboom (Unit Pulse Boomer) with the purpose of evaluation of sand volume offshore the Pico Island (Azores archipelago - Portugal). This cruise, part of the Portuguese project GEMAS, was coordinated by the Universidade dos Açores and the Departamento de Geologia Marinha of the Inst. Geológico e Mineiro (IGM).

-
HITS'01 Cruise, 2nd to 24th Sept. 2001, RV Hesperides (Cádiz - Cádiz).
HITS - High Resolution Tsunamigenic Structures in the South Iberian. During the Leg 1, we used the SOC high-resolution TOBI sidescan sonar, complemented with other geophysical methods, for detailed mapping and geophysical profiling of the active structures in the Southern Iberian Margin. This cruise was organized by the ICTJA-CSIC (Barcelona).
Courses
-
BGS Introduction to Sequence Stratigraphy in the field: Utah, USA
This course was held in the classic sequence stratigraphic localities of Book Cliffs and in the salt-tectonically affected Paradox Basin, with is a good analogue to the UK southern and central North Sea hydrocarbon plays. It provided the opportunity to gain experience of clastic sedimentology and extensional and salt tectonics in areas of excellent exposure.
27th of September - 5th of October Utah, USA
-
EURODOM 3-D Seismic Interpretation and Visualization
First part was an intensive course on 3-D Seismic visualization and the 2nd part was a serie of lectures on processes related to slope stability in continental margins. Course Agenda
25th to 31th of May 2005 Tromsø, Norway
-
Deep-sea Sedimentary Processes and Products: Submarine Slope Instability II .
