I am in the second year of my PhD. My project is concerned with the reduction of uncertainty in estimates of carbon stores and fluxes in British Forests. I am developing a forest growth models that will allow for carbon quantification. The models will allow for constant improvement using data assimilation. I also plan to develop methodologies to allow for both satellite and aerial LiDAR derived forest metrics to be used in the data assimilation.

My research interests are mostly concerned with forest management using mathematical methods:

  • Growth and yield modelling
  • Remote sensing
  • Carbon accounting
