Technical Skills


Laboratory skills:

- Cosmogenic nuclide (10Be, 26Al) target preparation and AMS analysis; quartz preparation and analysis by optically stimulated luminescence dating. Also Scanning Electron Microscope & EDAX analysis, rock and sand sample preparation.

Field Skills:

- Skilled in cosmogenic isotope and luminescence dating sample collection. Experience of surveying, geomorphological mapping, and use of wide range of field kit including data loggers & weather stations.

IT skills:

- Website design and html programming, also extensive experience of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Minitab & SPSS. Skilled in use of GIS, Remote Sensing, and mapping packages; including the ArcGIS series, IDRISI, and MapInfo.

Bibliographic skills:

- Wide ranging bibliographic skills gained as a result of work as Junior Librarian and archivist at Hertford College, and Assistant Librarian in School of Geography Library.
