Rwanda Science, Technology and InnovationThe Ministry of Science, Technology and Research (Government of Rwanda) and DFID Rwanda were supported during 2006 and 2007 to design a process to build legal and institutional structures to promote the role of science, technology and innovation in achieving the Government of Rwanda's development targets as articulated in their Vision 2020 document and Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Strategy. This work led to the design of DFID's STIR Project (Science, Technology and Innovation for Results) which ran from 2008 through to 2009. At the end of this process the Government of Rwanda approved the creation of a new institutional structure, the National Council for Science, Technology and Research to be housed within the Ministry of Education. A workshop was held in Kigali in June 2007 to launch this process and hosted by the Government of Rwanda, DFID and the World Bank. A report from this meeting and copies of the main presentations are provided here. Science, Technology and Innovation Workshop: June 2007SummaryMeeting ReportPresentationsHon.
