Food Security
Food Security is one of the major Global Challenges facing the world at the start of the 21st Century. Addressing this challenge will require approaches that bridge and cross traditional disciplinary boundaries or divides, linking researchers, policy makers and practitioners from around the world.
As part of a process to build new global research and educational partnerships addressing the challenge of food security, the Edinburgh International Development Centre hosted an international workshop on food security for members of Universitas 21 and their partners from developing countries. The materials from the workshop and its outcomes are available via the Food Security section of the EIDC website.
A number of new initiatives on the theme of food security will be launched during 2010, linked to the EIDC and Edinburgh's new Global Academies.
