Consultancy

I undertake environmental consultancy for the Scottish Executive, SEPA, local authorities, Environment Heritage Service Northern Ireland, developers and other clients. All consultancy work is conducted through Edinburgh Research and Innovation.

Contracts include:

  • Constructed Farm Wetlands - Proposal for a Design Manual for Scotland & NI. Awarded by DoE Environment and Heritage Service Northern Ireland following competitive tender, 2007.
  • Assessment of effectiveness of mine water treatment scheme, West Lothian Council, 2006.
  • Sustainable drainage systems (SuDS): filter drains (with Atkins Water). Awarded by Scottish Executive following competitive tender, 2004-05.
  • Caw Burn wetland and catchment improvements. Awarded by SEPA following competitive tender, 2004.
  • Outline design for system for treatment and disposal of gully waste, Vale of Glamorgan Council, 2004.
  • Design of constructed wetland for treating gully pot effluent, Caerphilly Borough County Council, 2004.
  • Design of constructed wetland for treating gully pot effluent, Realm Construction, 2002.
  • Assessment of sediment accumulation and quality in urban runoff treatment structures, Dunfermline, Taylor Woodrow Homes, 1999-2004.
  • Review of Darwin Initiative Project Completion Report, 2001
  • Modelling of quantity and quality of leachate from landfill sites, and effect of leachate management measures. For Taylor Dalgleish Associates, Dunblane, 1998-1999.
