Digital Elevation Data Catalogue

This catalogue is compiled on these basis of my own information and the contributions of a number of helpful readers of the GIS-L group. It includes details of elevation and bathymetric data, together with a section on available software for the display and manipulation of these data.

The catalogue is posted on the newgroups comp.infosystems.gis (GIS-L), sci.geo.eos and sci.geo.geology at the start of every month. However, the most up-to-date version is always available here.

There are two documents provided here; the "Introductory" page from the monthly posting and the Catalogue itself. Both are simple text documents; a method of providing a hypertext version of the catalogue is being examined. However, the advantage of making the Catalogue available as a simple text document is that it is easy for you to print.

Sometimes, when the internet is busy, it may prove impossible to receive the entire catalogue over WWW. You can, however, request your own copy of the DED Catalogue by sending email to geoinfo@geo.ed.ac.uk including the command "SEND DEM". A message with no command will elicit instructions.
