High School Yards Public Computing Lab

Archaeology, Computing Services and Geography collaborated over the summer (2002) to enable the opening of a new open-access Computing Lab situated at High School Yards.

The lab is being administered by Computing Services who also look after a number of open-access Computing Labs around the University, for use by all matriculated students and staff of the University. 

All facilities are free, except printing, but are only accessible to registered users. Students are registered automatically when they enrol; staff should ask their Computing Representative, or complete an 'EUCS Service Registration' form (available from EUCS Reception/Sales Points).

Training, documentation and direct help are provided by the supervisor in any of the supervised labs or by the Undergraduate Support Team. Postgraduates and staff should contact their Computing Officer or College Support Team.

Software Packages available in the lab

The following suite of PC packages is available on every PC in every computing lab including High School Yards. Licenses for ArcGIS may be restricted to the HSY lab initially.

How do you get there?

If you are standing in the main hall in Geography, turn left past the bottom of the main staircase and through the fire door in front of you. The lab is the fourth door along on the left (Room 2.02) and is marked with posters.
