The following programs have been developed for particular tasks and might be useful to other people. They are provided 'as is' with no guarantees attached. Use them at your own risk. Most are written in Delphi and all are, to the best of my knowledge, bug free - but they say there is always one more bug ... Please report any bugs to me at c.legg@ed.ac.uk. Analysis of Contingency Tables

| A simple program to test for associaton using Chi-squared, G-test for contingency tables with any number of rows or columns, and Fisher's Exact test for 2 x 2 tables. Download zipped program and help file. (217 kb) |

Plotting Triangular (or Ternary) Graphs
|
|
| A program for plotting data onto triangular axes, for example for plotting C-S-R diagrams. The resulting graph can then be cut and pasted into a Word document. |

Exact Probabilities
|

| A simple program that calculates exact probabilities from some common statistics (Z, t, F, Chi-squared) and calculates critical thresholds for given probabilities. OK, I know you can do this in Excel now, but it is sometimes handy to have a small, user-friendly program sitting in the corner of your screen. Download zipped program. (176 kb) (P.S. Random Access Identification
|
|
| A DOS program (old, but it still works) written in Turbo Pascal that uses a random-access approach for plant identification. There is a database for identification of British Sedges available here, and information about keys to Hieracium and Grasses. |
